🇬🇭 GHANA’S TRIASTARS HEAD FOR DAMAN WORLD TRIATHLON SERIES 🇬🇭
The iconic Island in the Capital city of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi will host the 2019 edition of the Daman World Triathlon. The ITU World Series is scheduled for the 8th and 9th March is said to be the largest and the most participating triathlon in the Middle East, much could be forecasted as to how competitive and thrilling the event is going to be.
Ghana Triathlon’s giants; Mark Ofosu and Laila Zangwio have been drafted to compete in this event. The duo, following their numerous and consistent successes chalked in Ghana Triathlon and West African Zone II events puts them on a pedestal to attempt the Olympic distance in this event. Laila Zangwio partook in the Hamburg Triathlon Series last year on July 14, 2018. She won her first ever participation in the Pan African and Arab Championship held in Shark El Sheikh, Egypt in 2016 in the Age group. Mark Ofosu has always challenged Abdul Rauf and snatched win from him at the West African Zone II race held in Accra last November.
Their first ever attempt in the Olympic distance(1.5km swim, 40km bike,10km run) will be in this event and yet Ghana triathlon are very much confident of a promising performance following their progress in events.
The Daman World Triathlon Series in Abu Dhabi will have a lot to offer fans with other events to be completed by thousands of triathletes. Prominent among them will be the Elite Mixed Relay which will be the first in Abu Dhabi and the first in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. About 2500 age group triathletes will compete for their honours. The junior races, para-athlete waves and family 1km fun run won’t also be left out.
